Well Women's Clinic
The Well Women's clinic operates at Macedon Ranges Health on Tuesday afternoons.
This service for women enables you to discuss any sexual, skin care or general health issues with a Registered Div. 1 Nurse in a private and confidential setting. Running for up to an hour, the consultation allows time to discuss sensitive issues in detail. Services available include cervical screening.
Routine cervical screening is your best protection against cervical cancer.
Cervical Screening Tests changed on 1 December 2017 to improve early detection and save more lives.
All women aged between 25 and 74 years are now invited to have a Cervical Screening Test every five years, instead of a Pap test every two years.
The Cervical Screening Test detects HPV infection. HPV is a key risk factor in the development of cervical cancer. Even if you are vaccinated against HPV you need to participate in regular cervical screening.

Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapists aim to maximise personal independence and safety, as well as promoting health and wellbeing. This can be done through assessment for appropriate equipment, aids and/or home modifications, whilst advising and educating our clients on strategies to best achieve their goals.
Occupational Therapists can assist people to participate in everyday tasks such as personal hygiene, home duties, work, leisure or community pursuits.

Pilates
A low-impact form of exercise with an emphasis on three key principles:
1. Slow and controlled movement
2. Core engagement
3. Breathing control
These primary features of Pilates contribute to increased upper and lower body strength, motor control, stability and core muscle development. Pilates can lead to significant improvements in pain from any chronic conditions or musculoskeletal injuries.
Who is Pilates suited to?
The greatest advantage of Pilates is that anyone can give it a go! There are many different levels to Pilates, starting from beginner matt Pilates work all the way up to the use of various types of equipment as a progression.
Pilates is a great alternative exercise option for:
• Individuals with chronic pain: whether that be from injuries or pain conditions such as Fibromyalgia.
• Back and neck pain.
• Reduced mobility, muscular strength, and balance in older adults.
• People aiming to return to more strenuous activities/sports, who need a low-impact approach as a starting point.
• Post-partum mothers.
• People who simply want an alternative exercise option.
Even if you are not experiencing any pain or injuries, Pilates can be utilised as a preventative method to reduce the risk of pain and injuries in your daily activities of living, including sports and other forms of exercise.
How do I get started?
Prior to class participation, you will need to be booked in with Aleks for a Pilates Assessment consultation to determine your eligibility and what form of Pilates would be best suited to your needs. For individuals with chronic medical conditions, we will need written medical clearance from your GP stating that you will be safe to exercise in a class setting.
