It’s been just over five months since the exciting announcement that Macedon Ranges Health will join with leading Victorian not-for-profit aged and community care services provider, Benetas. We would like to take this opportunity to give you an update on how our two organisations are progressing as we work together.
We are continuing to work hard to advance the requirements of the amalgamation. Once the amalgamation is complete, Benetas will become the new Approved Provider for all services and accommodation previously provided by Macedon Ranges Health. Having said that, we don’t expect you to notice many changes immediately after the amalgamation occurs.
Benetas is working closely with Macedon Ranges Health to ensure this process will in no way negatively impact the care and services currently received by residents, families, clients and the broader community. Our unwavering commitment to make sure you and your family receive the best care possible from our wonderful staff, will not change. In addition, Benetas is committed to preserving the heritage of Macedon Ranges Health and ensuring it remains part of the community, supporting local community needs.
We believe the amalgamation between MRH and Benetas represents an exciting opportunity to revitalise and grow MRH’s facilities and services to better support you and the people of Gisborne and surrounding areas for years to come.
Over the next two years, we look forward to upgrading MRH’s existing facilities and infrastructure to achieve a combined vision of delivering the best care possible locally. These upgrades are the first step of a substantial $60 million-plus investment plan which will create a world class integrated aged care village, supported by an extensive range of medical, allied health and community services. This vision will deliver one of the greatest integrated health and aged care precincts in rural Victoria.
Specifically, the future will see, among other things:
a rebuild of the Gisborne Oaks as a new, state of the art 130 bed residential aged care facility
a new best practice, residential retirement village, and
the enhancement and expansion of MRH’s primary, community and home care servicesa
Benetas has 70 years’ experience in providing Victorians with exceptional aged care services. All of Benetas’ services are underpinned by four pillars: respect, community, spirit and responsibility which is why the fit between our two organisations is perfect. For those receiving aged care support, Benetas and MRH share a vision of giving every person we care for a positive, fulfilling experience of ageing, and the opportunity to age well in their community.
