CEO of Benetas, Sandra Hills, has welcomed new research showing older Australians have a huge zest for life, but that this is tempered by some fundamental concerns about health and the cost of living.
The fifth and final Macedon Ranges Health Colour Fun Run & Walk was an outstanding success this year with over 600 participants and 100 volunteers taking part in the event.
Over the past seven months and more, Benetas and Macedon Ranges Health have been working hand-in-hand towards amalgamation. 1 July becomes an important date in the history of both organisations, signifying the momentous milestone where legally, the two became one.
May 2018: It’s been just over five months since the exciting announcement that Macedon Ranges Health will join with leading Victorian not-for-profit aged and community care services provider, Benetas.

31 January 2018: We have a number of celebrations and projects planned as MRH celebrates 60 years since the Gisborne and Bush Nursing Hospital opened on the 23rd March 1958.
31 January 2018: Macedon Ranges Health has won a 2018 Studer Group "Australian Healthcare Organisation of Distinction” Award. This award celebrates organisations that perform at an exceptional level and have achieved major improvements in organisational performance.

6 February 2017: UFS Dispensaries has purchased two pharmacies in Gisborne in the Macedon Ranges region; Hardy’s Pharmacy in Brantome Street and Gisborne Pharmacy located within The Macedon Ranges Health Centre.
UFS is a member owned not-for-profit mutual organisation established in Ballarat in the 1880s. Profits generated by UFS are used to improve services for members, invest in their people and support the local community through sponsorship and donations. UFS operates seventeen pharmacies and three Medical Centres throughout the Western region of Victoria and in inner Melbourne.
19 December 2016: We are thrilled at Macedon Ranges Health to have received a Partnership Grant with Hume City Council which will go towards delivering a Youth Clinic at Sunbury Downs College. This clinic will provide bulk-billed Mental, Sexual and Physical health Services for youth in years 7-12. This will assist in addressing the identified health needs within the College located in the Hume region.
7 November 2016: Macedon Ranges Health introduces Social Worker Rhea Doyle who joins an expanding allied health team at the service.
7 November 2016: Macedon Ranges Health is currently seeking expressions of interest for its Secret Agent Society (SAS) Program. SAS uses exciting games and activities to improve the social skills and emotional understanding of 8 to 12 year olds with high functioning Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), including Asperger Syndrome and our Social Skills Groups will be continuing this year for boys and girls.

12 September 2016: Macedon Ranges Health will commence an innovative Social Skills Group for girls commencing in October 2016 (term four). The aim of the Group is to assist girls with their communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, and is primarily for girls who have been given an ASD diagnosis or have social skill difficulties.
