Over the past seven months and more, Benetas and Macedon Ranges Health have been working hand-in-hand towards amalgamation. 1 July becomes an important date in the history of both organisations, signifying the momentous milestone where legally, the two became one.
31 January 2018: Macedon Ranges Health has won a 2018 Studer Group "Australian Healthcare Organisation of Distinction” Award. This award celebrates organisations that perform at an exceptional level and have achieved major improvements in organisational performance.
29 November 2017: At the 2017 AGM, MRH Board and management shared key achievements for the 2016/17 year with community members and industry stakeholders.
16 November 2017: The amalgamation of Macedon Ranges Health and Benetas has been supported following a vote by Macedon Ranges Health Members this week.
21 September 2017: Macedon Ranges Health won the “Not For Profit/Public Sector” category at the 2017 Macedon Ranges Business Excellence Awards.
1 August 2017: MRH welcomed a fantastic group of women to the MRH Centre for a workshop with the Royal Women’s Hospital on Friday 28th July.

6 June 2017: Representatives from the Gisborne Golf Club Ladies Committee visited Macedon Ranges Health on Tuesday 6 June to present Don Tidbury (CEO) and Robyn Parish (Manager - Aged Care) with a cheque for the purchase of a Vital Signs Monitor and overbed tables for Gisborne Oaks.

11 May 2017: Our very own Community Nurse Louise Beer was one of only five national finalists for "Nurse or Midwife of the Year” at the 2017 HESTA Nursing and Midwifery Awards.
3 May 2017: Macedon Ranges Health (MRH) and Benetas have agreed to explore partnership opportunities in the provision of aged care and community services in the Macedon Ranges.

1 May 2017: As part of our ongoing alliance with Alzheimer’s Australia, MRH will be running training programs on Tuesday 6 June to enhance the capacity of our staff, volunteers and the community to care for people living with dementia.
1 May 2017: On Friday 12 May, the Centre for Non-Violence will be training MRH staff to recognise and respond to family violence. To mark the day, we will be hosting a free BBQ lunch for the community to join our staff in acknowledging the day.
28 Mar 2017: Macedon Ranges Health (MRH) hosted Tom Symondson CEO of the Victorian Healthcare Association (VHA) to a working lunch with the MRH Executive Team earlier this month.
13 February 2017: Macedon Ranges Health is delighted to welcome three new clinicians with the recent appointment of a Clinical Psychologist, Paediatric Psychologist and Physiotherapist.
6 February 2017: UFS Dispensaries has purchased two pharmacies in Gisborne in the Macedon Ranges region; Hardy’s Pharmacy in Brantome Street and Gisborne Pharmacy located within The Macedon Ranges Health Centre. UFS is a member owned not-for-profit mutual organisation established in Ballarat in the 1880s. Profits generated by UFS are used to improve services for members, invest in their people and support the local community through sponsorship and donations. UFS operates seventeen pharmacies and three Medical Centres throughout the Western region of Victoria and in inner Melbourne.
19 December 2016: We are thrilled at Macedon Ranges Health to have received a Partnership Grant with Hume City Council which will go towards delivering a Youth Clinic at Sunbury Downs College. This clinic will provide bulk-billed Mental, Sexual and Physical health Services for youth in years 7-12. This will assist in addressing the identified health needs within the College located in the Hume region.
7 November 2016: Macedon Ranges Health is currently seeking expressions of interest for its Secret Agent Society (SAS) Program. SAS uses exciting games and activities to improve the social skills and emotional understanding of 8 to 12 year olds with high functioning Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), including Asperger Syndrome and our Social Skills Groups will be continuing this year for boys and girls.

26 September 2016: The newly established Falls Resource Team at Gisborne Oaks will focus on strategies to prevent falls and minimise harm to our aged care residents and provide ongoing education and support to our staff to ensure they are working to best practice standards.
12 September 2016: Macedon Ranges Health’s Annual General Meeting on Monday 24 October welcomes Leanne Wenig from Alzheimer's Australia as guest speaker.
12 September 2016: Macedon Ranges Health will commence an innovative Social Skills Group for girls commencing in October 2016 (term four). The aim of the Group is to assist girls with their communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, and is primarily for girls who have been given an ASD diagnosis or have social skill difficulties.
12 September 2016: Over 50 people from the local community attended the workshop “caring for people living with Dementia” facilitated by Alzheimer’s Australia.

20 July 2016: Australia’s top aged care sector professionals have been recognised, with 14 finalists announced in the 2016 HESTA Aged Care Awards. Macedon Ranges Health’s Camille Koch is a finalist in the Individual Distinction category.
27 June 2016: LASA (Leading Aged Services) is the peak industry body for aged residential and home care in Australia. The awards were announced at the 2016 LASA Victoria & Tasmania State Congress on Thursday 24 June 2016.
15 June 2016: The Hon Shayne Neumann MP, Shadow Minister for Ageing and Rob Mitchell MP, Federal Member for McEwen visited Macedon Ranges Health’s Gisborne Oaks residential aged care facility and made a major election announcement on behalf of the Australian Labor Party.
3 June 2016: The board and management were delighted to attend the Gisborne and District Community Bank branch of the Bendigo Bank Community Investment Evening where the bank confirmed their major sponsorship of the 2016 MRH Colour Run and Walk.
14 April 2016: Macedon Ranges Health’s Gisborne Oaks Residential Aged Care welcomed Shayne Neumann MP, Shadow Minister for Ageing and Rob Mitchell MP, Federal Member for McEwen for a tour of the Gisborne Oaks and a community forum on Aged Care and Dementia.

21 March 2016: The new Macedon Ranges Health Centre celebrated its first birthday this week! Celebrations included a bbq lunch, physiotherapy classes, financial services and anxiety/depression information sessions, musical performances, massage sessions and speech pathology screenings.
